In-app growth levers: brand credit, 9:16 output, one-tap preset

Four product changes that turn every export into UGC and make a creator's demo work in one tap. An audit prompt for the codebase that marks each lever done or next, plus the disclosure rule.

Audit {app name} for the in-app growth levers. Read the export, share and onboarding code and mark each lever DONE, PARTIAL or NEXT with the file that proves it.

1. BRAND CREDIT on free exports: a small 'Shot on {app name}' on every free-tier export, removed by the paid tier. Check: is it on every export path (save, share sheet, direct post)? Is the removal tied to the paid entitlement? Is it disclosed on the pricing or FAQ page in plain words? A credit nobody was told about reads as a bait-and-switch in reviews.
2. VERTICAL OUTPUT: the default export fits a vertical feed with no editing: 9:16 (or 3:4), not 16:9. Check the default, not only the option.
3. ONE-TAP FIRST SCREEN: presets with an Auto default instead of sliders. A creator filming a demo needs the result in one tap. Count the taps from launch to a shareable result.
4. CREDIT TRACKING: an event that records whether a saved or shared result carried the credit, so its effect on installs can be read later.

Output: a table (lever, status, file, what is missing), then the NEXT items ordered by effort, smallest first. For the brand credit, also draft the two sentences for the pricing page.

In Claude Code, paste the prompt as a message, or run /creator-growth which does this end to end.

Steps

  1. Run it in Claude Code at the repo root; it reads the export and paywall code and writes the table.
  2. Ship the pricing-page sentences in the same release as the credit, never later.
  3. After release, read the credit-tracking event next to installs per campaign in the weekly review.

Tips

  • The credit is free UGC on every share, but only if the paid tier removes it and the pricing page says so. Both halves or neither.
  • Output that fits the feed without editing is what a creator tests first; an app that exports 16:9 loses the demo before the pitch.

A call to action in every video is what gets a video scrolled. Put the app name in the replies to 'what app is this?', keep the link in the bio, and write the replies before you need them.
