60-second founder update: the script prompt for a weekly build-in-public clip

A prompt that writes a 60-second talking-head update from your week's notes: the number first, one thing that broke, one thing shipped, one ask. About 150 words, no greeting.

Write a 60-second founder update script from the notes below. About 150 words at 150 words per minute (a parameter; adjust to how fast I actually talk).

Structure:
0:00-0:05 Open with the number of the week (a metric, a count, a date). No greeting, no name, no 'this week'.
0:05-0:25 What broke or what I learned: one concrete incident, what I thought, what was true.
0:25-0:45 What shipped: one feature or decision, said as what a user can now do, not what I did.
0:45-0:55 What is next: one line.
0:55-1:00 One ask: a question the viewer can answer in a comment, or a link.

Rules: short sentences, max 14 words each. Spoken English, contractions allowed. No adjectives about the company. Numbers as spoken words. Mark two moments where I should cut to a screen recording, with what is on screen.

Notes:
{paste the week's notes, commits, metrics}

In Claude Code, paste the prompt as a message.

Steps

  1. Paste raw notes: commit messages, a metric from the dashboard, a support thread. The agent should pick the number; you should veto it.
  2. Record in one take at the end of the week, straight to camera, phone at eye level. Re-record only if a sentence is wrong, not if it is imperfect.
  3. Cut in the two screen-recording cutaways where the script marks them.

Tips

  • The number goes first because it works with the sound off and tells regulars whether this week is worth a minute.
  • If the week had no number, the update has no hook; post the 'what broke' story alone as 30 seconds.
