# Satisfying process / ASMR: 30 seconds of one process, real sound, no talking

The sound-led format that holds without a hook sentence because the first frame is mid-action and the audio is the process itself. The prompt plans the cuts to the sounds and the single text line.

## Prompt

```text
Plan a satisfying-process video of {process} for {topic or channel}. The format works because the viewer's ear is hooked by a real sound in the first half second and the eye follows a process to its end; narration kills it. Sound is recorded on set, no music, no voice.
Structure (30 s, 9:16):
- 0-1 s: start mid-action, on the loudest clean sound of the process (a knife through cabbage, a scraper on a board, a tap on glass). Never start on a wide shot of the room.
- 1-25 s: 6-9 shots, each cut on a sound event, not on a beat. Shot sizes alternate close-up and extreme close-up; one medium shot allowed, placed in the middle. Each shot shows the process one step further; no step repeated.
- 25-29 s: the finished thing, held, with its own sound (a plate set down, a lid closing).
- 29-30 s: one on-screen line only, max 6 words, naming the result or the time it took. No CTA of any kind. If a tool or app was used, it is visible; the comments will ask.
Word budget: 0 spoken. On-screen text: the one line at the end.
Return: a table (time, shot size, what happens, the sound that starts the shot, mic position), then a 3-line recording note (which sounds to record separately, which to keep from camera audio).
Process: {process}
Sounds in it that I can record cleanly: {list}
```

## Example

Process: making a smash burger. Channel: weeknight cooking.

| Time | Shot size | What happens | Sound that starts the shot | Mic |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 0-3 s | ECU | Ball of meat hits the hot pan | the sizzle | 10 cm from the pan, off to the side |
| 3-6 s | CU | Spatula presses it flat | the press, metal on metal | same |
| 6-9 s | ECU | Edge crisps, fat bubbles | bubbling | same |
| 9-12 s | MS | Hand salts from above | salt landing | overhead |
| 12-15 s | CU | Spatula scrapes under, flips | the scrape | side |
| 15-18 s | ECU | Cheese lands, starts to melt | the slap of the slice | side |
| 18-21 s | CU | Lid on, steam | lid on the pan | side |
| 21-25 s | CU | Lid off, patty onto the bun | lid off, the soft drop onto bread | side |
| 25-29 s | CU | Bun top pressed on, burger set on a board | the press, the board | board level |
| 29-30 s | CU | Hold | silence | |

On-screen at 29 s: '4 minutes, one pan'.

Recording note: record the sizzle and the scrape separately with the mic close, the room is too loud for the camera track; keep the camera audio for the salt and the lid; shoot everything twice so each cut has a clean sound start.

## Tips

- Cut on the sound, not on the picture. Start each shot a few frames before its sound so the ear leads the eye.
- Life2Film's frame scoring finds the sharpest, best-lit second of each take; for this format that is the shot, and you only pick the order.
- A phone's built-in mic clips on the sizzle. A cheap lavalier taped to the counter edge, 10 cm from the pan, is the whole audio setup.
